Żerków-Czeszewo Landscape Park

The Żerków-Czeszewo Landscape Park was established in the year 1994. It is located in the central part of the Wielkopolska province, in the flood ice-marginal valley of the Warta river and its Lutynia tributary with numerous oxbows

The area amounts to 15640 ha. The unique, very diversified terrain with two culminating hills – Łysa Góra (161 m above sea level) and Żerków Hill (155 m above sea level) is subject to protection.

In the area of the Żerków-Czeszewo Landscape Park, there is a Palace in Śmiełowo from the end of the 18th century in which Adam Mickiewicz stayed for w while during the summer of 1831 and where a museum established in 1975 and named after him is located.

The Żerków-Czeszewo forests are part of the ”Nature 2000” network based on the EU Habitat Directive covering the most precious habitats in the country.
