Klęka

A village, where the Polish king Władysław I the Elbow-High surrendered the Wielkopolska, Pomerania and Kuyavia regions to the Czech ruler Wenceslaus II in 1299. In 1840, the Klęka property was acquired by Herman Kenneman – the co-founder of the German Eastern Marches Society. The only historic building is the palace from the 19th century including the farm buildings, located within the landscape park. In the years 1975-1998, the town administratively belonged to the Poznan province.

The Klęka environs consists mainly of forests and parks spreading over the area of several kilometres up to the Warta river. These areas are inhabited by the population of animals being a cross-section of several species such as beavers, foxes, cranes, herons, as well as storks, whose nests are numerous in this vicinity. The village is famous both in Poland and all over the world for its herbal plants.

Kolniczki

There is the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the years 1948-1959 in the village, being at the same time the Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Kolno. The picture of the Mother of God with the baby Jesus from the 17th century is visible in the main altar. Next to the church, there is a tombstone of Anastazy Czapski (1795-1867), an officer of the Napoleonian armies. All over the town, it is possible to see many road figures which are related to the pilgrimage movement.

Boguszyn

Just next to the 19th century landscape park and neo-gothic entrance gate, there is a palace with farm buildings and a steward’s house from the same period. The palace has a romantic neo-gothic character and was an old seat of the Sczaniecki family. At the building of an old school, there is a chapel with the figure of St. Joseph from the 19th century.

Boguszynek

The village is famous for the wooden church of Saint Joseph, the Betrothed of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with log construction, which was erected in the years 1773-1775 in the nearby Kolniczki, and then pulled down in 1951 and moved to this place in the year 1975.

Szypłów

Władysław Taczanowski, a participant of the European Revolutions of 1848 and chairman of the Polish Circle in the Prussian Parliament. A 19th century palace and a landscape park with hornbeam avenues is located here.

Chocicza

An eclectic palace built in 1920 with well preserved farm buildings from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century in its neighbourhood is located in the area of the vast landscape park. The property belonged formerly to Jan Rozdraźewski of Doliwa coat of arms. Also, the railway station is one of the oldest buildings in the village.

Dębno on the Warta river

An old village on the left bank of the Warta river, mentioned for the first time already in the 13th century. The gothic church of Ascension of the Holy Virgin Mary, whose founder was Wincenty Kot, the inhabitant of the village and later Gniezno archbishop and primate, comes from the years 1440-1447. It is a single-nave church with a round turret housing stairs. From the south, a neo-gothic porch was built. Inside the church, the precious pictures from the 16th and 17th century deserve particular attention. Next to the church, there are a classicist belfry, a presbytery and a figure of Saint John of Nepomuk from the 19th century. Also, ruins of the palace and a deteriorating neo-classicist chapel – a mausoleum of the Cohn family from the same period located in a neglected park can be found in the village. In 1831, Adam Mickiewicz stayed at the Mycielski mansion. On the other hand when a health resort – a water treatment establishment taking advantage of the local water sources was built in the years 1847-1862, such poets as Władysław Syrokomla and Ryszard Berwiński were guests at this place.

Skoraczew

The village is the site of the landscape park from the 19th century, with monumental oaks, planes and lime with 6 trunks, where an eclectic palace and farm buildings from the first half of the 20th century are located. The palace was added to the mansion from the 19th century.
